A man was fleeing La Porte County Police when he crashed yesterday.
And...he allegedly consumed enough alcohol to sink a battleship.
About 5 p.m......police say the man was driving erratically when an
officer tried making a traffic stop on Range Road near Kingsford Heights.
Police say the man refused to stop and during a pursuit veered
down an access road to a farm.
At one point...police say his car went off the dirt road and into
a field.
He then crashed into an irrigation ditch.
Police say 44 year old David Tuuk...who's from the Chicago area....
was arrested.
His alleged blood alcohol level was four times the legal limit.
Police say he was charged with a felony due to having at least
one prior OWI conviction.
