A La Porte man is accused of driving drunk on a license suspended for life.
29 year old Daniel Lemke was arraigned Friday in La Porte Circuit Court.
He could face an up to 11 year sentence.
According to court documents, Lemke last week was seen
driving erratically on State Road 39 near Route 6.
Police say his pick up truck crossed the fog line several times and veered into
the opposite lane on numerous occasions.
During a traffic stop, police said several full cans of beer were discovered
on the floorboard.
A computer check revealed that Lemke was a habitual traffic violator
whose license was taken away for life in 2004.
According to police.....Lemke told the officer he was drinking with co-workers in
Wheatfield and knew he had too much to drink but wanted to make it home to
La Porte.
