Sentencing is scheduled next month for the former city clerk in New Buffalo
convicted of stealing.
Reports indicate Sandra White was found guilty two weeks ago by a jury which
needed just over an hour to decide the case.
Authorities say White took tens of thousands of dollars in beach and public boat
launch monies in 2009 and 2010.
White was accused of pocketing the money instead of depositing it into the
city's bank account.
Reports indicate White during the trial denied taking the money but could not
explain the discrepancies in the books she was assigned to keep.
Authorities say over 90 thousand dollars turned up missing.
White could receive up to 15 years when sentenced at a hearing scheduled
January 7th.
