No arrests in La Porte bank robbery

La Porte Police are turning to the public for help in trying

to solve a bank robbery.

Officers after 3 p.m. Wednesday responded to Northern Indiana Federal

Credit Union in the 600 block of State St.

A man claiming to have a gun fled on foot southbound on Clay St.

with an undisclosed amount of money, said police.

No weapon was ever displayed.

The robber was described as white with scruffy facial hair; over six feet tall

and thin.

He also wore a gray hooded sweatshirt and dark gloves, said police.

The same bank was robbed in December of 2008 and several months later

the suspect, Jason Guill, was found in Florida.

Guill, 35, was given a three year prison sentence and ordered to repay the

over $8,000 he took as part of the terms of his five years on probation.
