Suspect Fished Out of Pine Lake

Police had a fish a La Porte area burglary suspect out of the water yesterday.

Just after 1 p.m....officers responded to the 600 block of Muir Court.

That's near Waverly Road.

According to police, the caller stated that a man was trying to break into a residence.

Upon arrival....police say the burglar was gone but left glass strewn

all over the inside of the home.

The suspect described as black and wearing blue jeans was last seen on foot

heading toward Waverly Road.

A tracking dog apparently was following a scent when the man was

spotted by a citizen near Pine Lake in the area known as the island..

Again....he took running.

Officers with the tracking dog were in the area of Holton Road when they spotted

the man in the water.

He was holding his hands above his head.

A paddle boat was used by police to help the suspect to shore.
