The waves are getting so high that a 20 ton boat in New Buffalo will be left

on the lake during tonight's storm.

Crews worked during the night and managed to get the boat away from the

rocks.

They went back out this morning to try and tow the boat back into the

harbor....but had no luck.

Now...they are being driven off the water by waves reaching 10 feet high and

building.,

Bob Stratton of Service 1 Marine in New Buffalo says the only way the

boat will survive is if the winds howl in from the right direction....

The breakwall will help shield the boat if winds blow in from the east or northeast.

Waves that could top 20 feet will pound the boat if winds come in from the west or northwest.

Stratton says the boat is so heavy....it will likely sink deeper into the sandy bottom

during the storm and a crane might be needed to lift it out........
