Leaving her purse in her vehicle cost a Rolling Prairie area woman

thousands of dollars.

Yesterday afternoon...the woman called the sheriff's office saying

her purse was taken from her unlocked vehicle sometime overnight

outside her home on 800 North.

She also told police credit cards from her purse were used to rack up

seven thousand dollars in fraudulent purchases.

Police say she became aware of the situation when her banks informed

her about the charges and an immediate stoppage being placed on her

cards.

Later that day...the woman said she found her purse in a nearby swamp

and 40 dollars in cash and other credit cards were also missing.
