For nearly 10 miles.....sparks from flattened tires were flying into the windshields of police

chasing an 18 year old from Michigan City.

Tyler Strickhorn was still being held in the LaPorte County Jail for resisting law enforcement and

other counts like never receiving a license.

Early Monday......police say stop sticks flattened two of his tires at U.S 421 and 400 North.

But...he kept going.....through Westville with sparks flyling from his driver's side rims and

with no headlights on....at 70 to 80 miles per hour.

Heavy smoke began flying from the vehicle......then on U.S 30 in Wanatah.....police say the vehicle

began spinning and stopped in the grassy median.

Strickhorn was then taken into custody.
