Indiana State Prison offenders help feed the hungry in Michigan City.

More than 300 pounds of fresh vegetables were recently donated to the

Michigan City Salvation Army.

Some of the offenders there grow and harvest the vegetables.....including

zucchini, squash, peppers, okra along with varieties of greens and lettuce.

Prison officials say hungry people locally benefit and so do offenders learning

skills they can use after their release
