Three people were hurt badly in a collision between a car and dump truck in

LaPorte this morning.

It happened before 8:30 a.m at U.S 35 and Boyd Boulevard on the southern edge

of the city limits.

LaPorte Fire Chief Andy Snyder said two patients were taken by helicopter from the crash

scene to Memorial Hospital in South Bend.

The other patient was immediately transported by ambulance to LaPorte Hospital because of a

more pressing need for advanced medical treatment.

Snyder said all three of the injured people were extricated from the car.

All four lanes of U.S 35 were closed for more than one hour.

The names of those involved and other details have not been provided.
