So far......voter turnout is described as slow but steady.

At the Civic Auditorium in LaPorte.....city councilman Roger Galloway

Is one of the poll workers.

He estimated about 50 voters had come in by 8:30 a.m....

Jon Eichelberg is a judge at the polls on Snyder Road in Otis.

He says over 30 people voted by 9 a.m.....

Turnout is about the same as primaries in the past....

Among the contested races is democrat John Lake against incumbent John Espar

for county prosecutor.

And incumbent Terry Garner of Hanna seeking the republican nomination over

challengers Justin Kiel of LaCrosse and Dan Van Schoyck for a seat on the county council.

The other contested races for LaPorte County Council are Dennis Metheny and Jim Rice

seeking the republican nomination from District 2.....

Incument Cary Kirkham is challenged by Michael Rosenbaum for the republican nomination

From District 4.
