More children have come forward alleging they were molested by a 71-year old Michigan City man.

David Allen of 612 Sunnyside Dr. had six more counts of Class A felony child molesting added to the original five Class A felony child molesting counts and one level 4 felony count filed against him in late January.

Convictions on all counts could bring a maximum 562-year sentence.

According to court documents, it's alleged Allen engaged in various sex acts with five children between the ages of 5 and 14 for a 16-year period.

Police became involved in October when an 8-year old girl told her mother about the alleged encounters following a seminar about inappropriate touching in her second grade classroom in LaPorte.

She claimed to have been molested repeatedly by Allen after her 7th birthday.

Other individuals with similar allegations later surfaced, including a woman who reported she was violated by him for 8-years starting when she was 6, according to court documents.

She also alleged Allen made her watch as he molested a boy with autism.

Courts documents also indicate Allen gave the woman $2,000 which she used to buy her first car on her 14th birthday.

Another victim allegedly molested by him for two-years beginning at age 5 reported getting ice cream, clothes and toys from Allen.

The investigation also revealed Allen many years ago had naked pictures of another girl who is now deceased, police said.

Police said Allen after the pictures were found in his drawer buried them in his back yard.

Just before police got involved, he was confronted by his wife after she learned about the first girl coming forward.

She told him be prepared because the police were being contacted, according to court documents.

A few days later, Allen on various medications had to be revived after ingesting leftover morphine and oxycodone then while at the hospital tried pulling off the monitors while repeating he wanted to die, court records disclosed.

Allen was still being held on $50,000 cash only bond.

He has a September 7 trial date in LaPorte Superior Court 1.
