double track decision approaching

The fate of the proposed South Shore double track remains undecided.

No decision has been made yet on federal funding.

The 300 million dollar projects hinges on Uncle Sam footing half the bill.

At a recent town hall meeting....Michigan City mayor Ron Meer said something

should be known very soon....

The state has already approved funding 25 percent of the cost.

The rest is coming from local sources like Michigan City and LaPorte County.
