NIPSCO is investing six million dollars into Kingsbury Industrial Park.

LaPorte County Commissioner Rich Mrozinski says the purpose is to

increase the electrical capacity there.

Right now...he says there's plenty of electricity available for the businesses

already there.

But...the work to be done makes sure there's plenty of power if a

big industrial customer would come there.....

Mrozinski says the work by NIPSCO will begin in April.

He feels greater capacity will help ongoing efforts to get the

park further developed.

Close to 400 new utility poles will go in.

There will also be 15 miles of new power distribution lines.

Don Babcock, director of economic development for NIPSCO, says

some of the work like replacingsome of the poles is regular

maintenance.

But...the rest is to bring in more power to service future growth at

Kingsbury....

Babcock says the work should be finished before the end of the

construction season this year.
