fire department overtime reduced

In Michigan City....the amount of money for overtime at the fire department

has gone down considerably.

Chief Randy Novak says there's been a real effort to reduce overtime

and it should go down even more this year.......

Eight new firefighters are on the restore staff levels and

reduce the need for overtime.....

City council president Don Pryzbylinski gave thanks for a 30 percent

or so reduction in overtime costs.....

Novak says about a half million dollars was spent last year on overtime.
