A man badly injured in a snowmobile crash in southern LaPorte County this week was intoxicated. That’s according to the Indiana Department of Natural Resources. Charles Zbuka had an alleged blood alcohol level of more than .18-percent. Conservation officer Shawn Brown says charges of operating while intoxicated will be sought….by his agency….but it’ll be up to prosecutors to make the final decision. The 38 year old Zbuka was doing about 40 miles per hour across a corn field in Hanna Township..late Sunday night. It was snowing and he went into a ditch slamming into the embankment on the other side. He remains at a hospital in South Bend with injuries to his face and other areas. According to police…he was riding with Hanna Township firefighter Anthony Marcus and both men were returning home from a tavern when the accident occurred.
