A convicted child molester from LaPorte was lifting a girl locked out of a house up to a window then started groping her.

Ronald Kayser, 59, of 501 Lawrence St. is charged in LaPorte Circuit Court with level 5 felony sexual misconduct with a minor and Class A misdemeanor public indecency.

According to court documents, the 15-year old girl on October 23 locked the keys inside a house on North St.

Kayser pulled up on a bicycle and offered to help.

He cut the screen away from a window and while lifting her up to the glass allegedly began rubbing her.

After crawling inside, she looked out another window and saw Kayser in the yard fondling himself for as long as five-minutes, police said.

According to court documents, a description of the suspect gave police an idea who it might be and the girl immediately recognized his face in a photo line-up.

Two months ago, Kayser was charged with failure to register as a sex offender, a level 6 felony.

He was placed on the registry because of a 2001 conviction for molesting a child under 15 in Florida.

Kayser was still being held Friday in the LaPorte County Jail on more than $15,000 bond.
