A Michigan City man had his girlfriend bring him the man she was seeing then shot him dead gangland style.

Those are the allegations in LaPorte Superior Court 1 against 22-year old Joshua Ratliff, who had his initial hearing Tuesday on a murder charge.

Judge Michael Bergerson will decide his request for a reduction in his $1 million bond November 28.

Ratliff is accused of fatally shooting Brian Turner, 22, of Michigan City early Sunday inside a home the defendant shared with his girlfriend and their children at 615 Spring St. on the city's north end.

According to court documents, Ratliff shot Turner four times after learning they were seeing each other.

The woman told police she brought Turner to the home thinking Ratliff was just going to beat him up.

Recovered were 10 spent shell casings from the suspected murder weapon, including six empty casings from a back bedroom where the body was located, police said.

Ratliff was scheduled for trial February 13 and could face an up to 65-year sentence.
