The 30th annual veterans day ceremony was held today in LaPorte.

David Stanton......who spent eight years on active duty...made the trip from

Lafayette as the featured speaker..

He said America is great no matter what the critics say......and the poor here....

would be wealthy in other countries......

He also said the America is blessed because God was relied for strength in gaining

Its independence.

And future leaders ....like Abraham Lincoln....kept it that way knowing without him

it mean the country's downfall...

Nowadays...though...he said any mention of the heavens is met with protest

from many of the citizens here.

Stanton said God is the key to remaining the best nation ever.....and like all humans the USA

is not perfect......and despite its greatness....many of its citizens kind of take things

for granted.

But...if critics really took a hard look.......they'd realize just how good

they have it here compared to so many in other nations.
