fall harvest nears finish

The fall harvest is wrapping up.

Not a whole lot of corn and soybeans are still out in the fields.

Matt Sxhaffer.....a farmer in the LaCrosse area....says he'd probably

be done if not for a mechanical breakdown....

Shafer says the recent heavy rainfall also created some delay from

mud keeping heavy machines out of the fields....for a bit.

Things in terms of yields could have been better....but they could have been a whole lot

worse.

That kind of sums up things...for many farmers in the area this past

growing season.

Schafer says it was a bit too dry and too wet at times......
