LaPorte City Police are investigating a burglary to a downtown business over the weekend.

It was before 2 a.m. yesterday when officers responded to an alarm at the Lincolnway Mini

Mart.

Police say a 55 gallon drum along with a 2 x 4 and chunk of asphalt were located

near a window the suspect had crawled though.

A busted open cash drawer was located on the floor along with some change scattered

around.

According to police....the store owner closed the place up about three hours prior to the

break in.

Someone was spotted leaving the building as the burglar alarm sounded.

So far...there are no suspects.
