He once played baseball for a living.

Dave Graybill was also on the U.S Olympic baseball team.

His mission is now comforting people going through

a crisis.

Graybill was in LaPorte and near Westville yesterday in

a pink fire truck.

He founded Pink Heals, a not for profit organization based near Phoenix, Arizona.

The group now has 66 chapters in 27 states and three other countries.

During his visits.....he tries to get communities interested in forming

their own branch of Pink Heals.....

At Crichfield school yesterday....two students with cancer were given goodie bags..

hugs and got to ride in one of his fire trucks.

Graybill was a pitcher whose career was cut short by injuries to

his arm.

He later became a firefighter in Arizona and now he travels the country

for six months a year lifting up the spirits of the unfortunate....

Graybill says he funds the cost of traveling himself but does accept donations

and sells t-shirts to help offset the expense....
