injury in upside down vehicle crash

One person was taken away by ambulance from a crash Friday afternoon in LaPorte where one of the vehicles involved came to rest upside down.
The accident happened about 3 p.m. on State Road 4 at Linden St. on the city's southeast side.
LaPorte Police have not released the names of the drivers or how the crash occurred.
But, an SUV with heavy front and driver's side damage came to rest along the edge of the highway upside down.
The other vehicle, a Hummer, did not overturn and sustained lesser damage to the rear passenger side.
April Hacker, 34, was inside her home at 102 Linden St. when she heard a loud crash and ran outside to see the wreckage just 100 feet or so away..
Brooke Nepsha, 17, was in her backyard at 101 Grandview Ave. when the two vehicles collided and said people ran over panicking.
Initially, a helicopter was called but firefighters managed to quickly free the female driver who was not as seriously injured as originally believed.
Traffic was detoured around the crash site for more than one hour.
