charges in jail trafficking

Two people are charged with an attempt to smuggle drugs into the LaPorte County Jail.
49 year old Joveda Wood of LaPorte allegedly sent Xanax and Suboxone in the mail.
It was intended for 29 year old Joshua inmate from Michigan City.
Sheriff John Boyd says the package was intercepted during screening of
mail that comes into the jail....
Suboxone is considered a substitute for heroin.
Boyd says the smuggling attempt was in April, but charges were not filed
until just recently.
They had to wait for the results of testing to confirm what was confiscated
were narcotics.
