11 teenagers wound up in hospitals after becoming ill from eating Gummy Bears believed to have contained THC, the active ingredient in marijuana.

According to LaPorte County Police, who was responsible for the suspected THC infused candy was still under investigation Friday.

Emergency responders were called to the 5200 block of N. 325 West by an individual requesting medical assistance.

LaPorte County Emergency Medical Service paramedic Buddy Kasinger said symptoms experienced by the 18 and 19 year olds included heart rates of more than 200 beats per minute, sharp drops in blood pressure, extreme anxiety and hallucinations.

Police said all of the six males and five females were from downstate Fishers and it's believed they were staying at the home of a relative of one of the teens.

Each of the people ingested just one half of a gummy bear, police said.
